I am currently running for State Representative in the 21st District! I’d like to take this time to tell everyone a little about myself and my family. I am a lifelong resident of Metcalfe County and have spent the last twenty-two years as the Administrator of Metcalfe Health Care Center; a position I just retired from on January 28th of this year. I am a 1994 graduate of Metcalfe County High School and a 1999 graduate of Western Kentucky University where I received a bachelor’s degree in Health Care Administration. I am a Christian, Conservative Republican, believe in the right to life and protecting your 2nd amendment. I believe in the Constitution of this great country and our commonwealth and will fight to defend it!
My husband Jason and I have three grown children, an amazing daughter-in-law and four precious grandsons. Our son Thomas is a lineman for Farmers RECC and he and his wife Alyssa have four boys. Our daughter Claire is currently attending Somerset Community College after being accepted into their PTA program. Our daughter Hannah just graduated from Western Kentucky University with a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and is soon to be married to her fiancé who is stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina.
No one cares more for children and their future than that of a mother and grandmother. I want to see our children receive a quality education and have a quality childhood. Like our healthcare workers, educators have endured much over the last couple of years, and I admire them for continuing to push forward despite the difficulties they have faced. I am in full support of providing educators with the tools and finances needed to give our children the best education possible. A quality teacher can have a mighty impact on students!
The whole of my career has been spent in long term healthcare and it’s undoubtedly an issue near and dear to my heart. I am very passionate about the care that our long term health care employees provide to our residents and want to see this care supported by our legislators. While this is a priority for me, I want to know what the people of Adair, Cumberland, Metcalfe, and Monroe are passionate about as well. My role as a nursing home administrator was all about serving my residents, their families and even my employees. I want that experience in serving others to carry over into my service as your State Representative. I want to spend the coming months meeting and hearing from you. I want to work on your behalf. I want your passion to be my passion. I am not a politician and won’t strive to be one, I simply want to be what the job title says, a “representative”. I want to represent your voice in Frankfort. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time. I look forward to meeting and hearing from you!
